Although the offer is very big and there are many alternatives, many people are still using Yahoo Messenger, a program that was and it will still probably be the most popular Messaging platform.
Even if for most people it is an OK Program, some of us would want to see a series of improvements with the new Yahoo Messenger 11. And we are not talking about some revolutionary features, but about solving the current problems.

In time, Yahoo Messenger has received different features. And this hasn’t been done by the book. The people over at Yahoo did not created a program in which the features to be at their place and correctly implemented. They simply added new features just like that, without a logic.
By extension, Yahoo Messenger is a “fat” program to say the least, which eats up a lot of the system’s resources, moves pretty slow and it also freezes very often. It is the exact opposite of a program that stays open all day long and should be discrete and very light on the system’s resources.
This is why we would appreciate if the new Yahoo Messenger is going to get a code optimization, and if the new version will make the program run smoothly along with it’s many features.
Extensions System
Yahoo Messenger supports plugins. But they are limited and they are only developed by Yahoo, by extension, their utility is limited.
Happily, Yahoo decided to “open” the API of the program, and now every programmer can develop extensions for Yahoo Messenger. They should have taken this step long ago, but better late then never.
Anyway, we want to see more than that. We want to see Yahoo Messenger without some of the default functions and for them to become available as Extensions. Just so that the application can run faster and to require less resources. Who ever wants a feature, can always install the respective extension.
A new interface
Some of us feel the need of a change regarding the graphic interface. A visual refresh is always welcomed! The current look of Yahoo Messenger, even if it can be modified with the help of themes, has became out of fashion.
And, if possible, the new interface we want to see to be optimized better than the current one. The current interface has some known bugs, which weren’t solved until now!
Less Bugs
I don’t know if Yahoo’s policy is to blame or the programmers, but Yahoo Messenger is known for the number of longevity of bugs. And this not only at interface level.
We want Yahoo Messenger 11 to be bug free. The current bugs negatively affects the running of the program as well as the resources.
These are the basic principles we are expecting from the new Yahoo Messenger 11. Of course, if we were to enter into more details, we might have dozens of suggestions to make regarding the functionality alone.
